Frequently asked questions

What is Vegshelf?

Vegshelf is an exclusive B2B wholesale marketplace that curates new and distinct food and beverage brands, connecting them with independent European retailers. Thanks to seller-friendly terms and power of technology, brands on Vegshelf can expand their business across borders, all while maintaining the focus on creating award-winning products.

How can I sell on Vegshelf?

The first step is to apply and get verified. After, you can log in to customize your brand’s digital storefront and upload products to sell on Vegshelf. You’ll need to identify countries to which you want to sell via Vegshelf and add the bank account to which you want to receive your payout. Once that is done, you’re ready to go live and be presented to our network of stores. Count on us if you need help with professional product photos, descriptions, or advice on optimizing your online B2B store’s performance - our team will take care of it for free.

How long will it take for my brand to be approved & listed on the platform?

Our task is to make it as fast as possible, however due to the high volume of applications we receive, it may take between 2-3 days for brand or product listing approval.

In which countries is Vegshelf available?

Currently Vegshelf is available for users in Germany, France, Netherlands and Belgium. Stay tuned - more countries will be added soon!

Can I use Vegshelf alongside my current distributors and retailers?

Absolutely. Having an existing distributor or sales representative is not a problem, since we do not require exclusivity. Moreover, you have full control to decide in which countries you want to sell on Vegshelf by identifying that in your account’s settings. Buyers from countries to which you don’t sell will not be able to buy your products via Vegshelf.

How do order fulfillment & shipping work?

We do not maintain stock of products sold on our marketplace, therefore each brand is responsible for order fulfillment and shipping. Your product page will inform buyers about the product's average lead time. Furthermore, estimated delivery time together with shipping costs for orders below €250 will be displayed to the buyer at the order check-out. After the buyer has placed an order from you, you’ll receive a notification with all the order details necessary to prepare the shipment. Package your items carefully, use your shipping courier and, once shipped, update the order status in your dashboard - this will notify the buyer that the order is on its way.

How do the returns work - will the retailer be able to return the product?

In case there is something wrong with the order, the buyer has 72 hours to submit the claim by sending a message directly to you or - by contacting us. We advise that you try to reach an agreement with the buyer (product replacement, discount, money-back) and inform us of the outcome.

Can I decide in which stores my products are sold?

Yes, you as a brand are in the driver’s seat and can decide where your products are sold. When you receive an order request, you have the choice to either confirm or reject it. Rest assured, every buyer before receiving access to Vegshelf marketplace has been vetted for reliability and quality by us. The criteria according to which we verify buyers are: business registration details (incl. valid VAT number), store address, social media and web presence, store photos, and time in business.

How much does it cost for the brand to sell via Vegshelf?

Vegshelf is based on a success model, which means that we make money only when you do. We charge 15% on opening orders, 10% on returning orders (excl. VAT and shipping fee). Our model is designed for small, emerging brands allowing them to benefit from the tools and sales opportunities that Vegshelf provides without paying upfront membership or listing fees, making hefty trade fair investments or signing the fixed, long-term exclusivity with the distributor for the usual 25% fee.

What is the minimum order value (MOV) when selling on Vegshelf?

Based on our user feedback, we have chosen to set the minimum order value to €100, allowing our brands to receive orders worth shipping, as well as enabling our retailers to easily try new products without harming their cashflow.

Can I contact buyers?

Yes, you can message any retailer who has previously either placed an order or sent a message to you on Vegshelf. You can send a new message by navigating to the “Orders” page, or a particular Buyer's company page, and clicking on “Contact buyer”. You can see all your message history on your account’s “Messages” page.

Which brands are approved to sell on Vegshelf?

All brands on Vegshelf have been hand-picked and personally verified by us. Beyond being a registered company, the things we're seeking in our sellers and their products are innovativeness, fair production, beautiful packaging, great taste, order fulfillment capacities, and brand’s engagement and following by existing customers.

When will I get paid for the orders that were received via Vegshelf?

Once you have delivered the order, you need to update the order status in your dashboard to initiate the payout process. Brands on Vegshelf benefit from a guaranteed payout within 10 days after the order has been delivered.

How can I get featured on Vegshelf channels?

We regularly curate and feature our brands in the “New brands” discovery page and each category section. In addition, we love to share the news from our brands on our social media, and newsletter and feature them on our blog. Therefore, if you are interested in marketing opportunities exclusive to our brand community, please contact us at hello@vegshelf.com.
